How Can severe Ear Pain Along With Fever Be Treated?

Hi. I am wondering if there are glands behind the ear, at the base of the skull? I have been experiencing some ear pain and low grade fever. Now I have a small swollen place about the size of a ping ping ball on the right side of my head, behind my ear, at the bottom of my skull. It is painful to touch. Sorta feels like a bruise would feel if you touched it. I am wondering if I could have an infection? I am also feeling dizzy sometime, not all the time. I live in the south, and just thought I have been experiencing allergy symptoms, so I have been taking Sudafed and Allegra. It helps with allergy symptoms, but I am concerned about the swollen, painful area.

Hi,

This is due to infection and as you point to place suggests of parotid gland infection. You need to take antibiotics and Paracetamol for a few days.

But I need to know your age, drug history, gender before prescribing a proper dosage. Let me know.

There is nothing to worry it will subside in one to weeks. You can also report directly to the ER room for clinical examination and accordingly you would be treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
